Anastasia Pharris

Anastasia Pharris is a Principal Expert in Infectious Diseases at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a nurse with Masters degrees in public health and community health nursing and a PhD in public health. Since 1997 she has worked on clinical and public health aspects of HIV in the USA, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, Sweden and, now, at European-level. She leads ECDC’s group on Sustainable Development Goal-related diseases, which is focused on supporting European countries, the European Commission and other stakeholders to measure and achieve progress towards the SDG 3.3 targets to end the epidemics of AIDS and tuberculosis and combat viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections by 2030.
