Spring European Testing Week Pilot

The European Liver Patients' Association (ELPA), in collaboration with the INTEGRATE Joint Action, is launching a pilot campaign: Spring European Hepatitis-HIV Testing Week 2018 which will take place on 18-25 May 2018.

What is the Spring European Hepatitis-HIV Testing Week pilot?

This pilot serves as another opportunity during the year to promote testing and increase awareness of knowing one's hepatitis/HIV status. Through this pilot, there will be a focus on integrated testing activities for hepatitis and HIV with the aim of creating a better understanding of how we can improve integrated testing and address barriers in implementation. This pilot will also allow ETW stakeholders to assess interest and the feasibility of having more than one Testing Week during the year.

This pilot aims to promote wide-scale testing and related awareness activities as a way to complement the November campaign.

The Spring European Hepatitis-HIV Testing Week pilot is not replacing the annual European Testing Week that occurs during the last week of November. The European Testing Week initiative will still carry out Testing Week in November (which is planned for 23-30 November 2018).

When is it?

The Spring European Hepatitis-HIV Testing Week pilot is from 18 – 25 May 2018.

We are asking all who decide to participate in the pilot to monitor their testing activities from late April to mid-June to assess the impact of the pilot activities.

Who can participate?

All interested organisations, at the local and national level, can sign up to participate.

How can you get involved?

Registration to participate in the pilot is now open! Sign up on the ETW website here.

There are many activities that you and your organisation can do for the Spring Testing Week pilot. They can include activities such as:
  • Awareness raising activities for key populations at higher risk
  • Hepatitis and/or HIV testing outreach activities for key populations
  • Promotion of combined testing at your site, on social media and much more (Download the special Spring Testing Week logo here).
Your participation would also mean closely monitoring and evaluating your Spring ETW pilot activities. We will rely on your feedback during the post-Spring ETW pilot evaluation. You can monitor your testing activities using the form here

Your participation in this pilot activity will be a great way to increase knowledge on the outcomes and barriers for combined integrated testing and hopefully, help us improve testing strategies
